SIMPLE STRESS REDUCTION FOR STUDENTS

Stress reduction and self-care doesn't have to be expensive or time consuming. Take 8 minutes in the morning before you even get out of bed to set the tone for your day and 8 minutes before you fall asleep to bring closure to your day. First, make sure you have everything you need.

  1. Download a meditation timer app like this one: i-Qi Clock
  2. Your bed and a pillow or two.
  3. Your yoga breath to activate the relaxation response (mouth closed, jaw soft, slow inhales through the nose, slightly longer exhales through the nose)

8-MINUTE MORNING BED SEQUENCE

  1. Banana Pose - hold 1 minute each side
  2. Spinal Twist - hold 1 minute each side
  3. Supported Back Bend (pillow under low back) - hold 2 minutes
  4. Caterpillar - 2 minutes

8-MINUTE EVENING BED SEQUENCE

  1. Butterfly - 3 minutes
  2. Legs Up The Wall - 5 minutes
